Deep Bows,
i will be taking a gentle pause here until the week of the 18th to attend & integrate a training intensive, but that doesn’t mean you need to be without something to contemplate.
then again, somehow i don’t think we are short of things to consider, but perhaps considering what you have been practicing (if you have been following this thread since May 2024) may offer some stability & strength.
as you move through these slogans, remember they are quite kind– although they may say don’t, they are actually saying, here is how to work with the behaviors that are inherently human.
Don’t misinterpret.
there are six teachings that may lead to us misinterpretation. we are susceptible to misinterpreting many things. the misinterpretation is that you practice these teachings in a conditional way– conditional in your favor.
patience: you practice patience but only to get your way
yearning: you long for the material goods, but not an open heart-mind
excitement: you get excited about material gain, but not opportunities to open your heart
compassion: you reserve compassion for those you like but not for others
priorities: again, you place material gain a priority over cultivating compassion
joy: you have joy for your own wins but do not celebrate other’s wins
when we direct our practice & teachings towards our own benefit, we can practice to emboldening your ego rather than tenderizing it.
we need tender hearts– tender hearts consider others.
