Everything Everywhere…
48 Train without bias in all areas. It is crucial always to do this pervasively and wholeheartedly.
i was recently reading How to Cook Your Life: From the Zen Kitchen to Enlightenment by Dōgen / Kōshō Uchiyama Rōshi & this line (p.43) struck:
Everything we encounter is our life.
it seems so basic but it hit different in the wee hours of this morning.
Everything.
what would become of life if there was no separation, no picking & choosing, but totality?
what if all this human experience were embraced as vital to the path?
what if we moved with full heart & practiced with it just as fully?
lately, another opportunity for witnessing the last years of my mother’s life has arisen & something felt “stuck.” it seemed everything had been tried & revealed. after a little time passed in silence through the day, a question emerged.
for me, spontaneous questions often point to something unexplored, some help from the Ancestors.
in that gap a great sadness washed over me as if 8 years had not passed since her passing. something released.
my body answered the question, not my mind.
it hinted that perhaps there was something held in the body that was pushed aside or held in secret & my willingness & openness now helped to release it. (& i have no doubt there will be more)
what in your life needs your full heart & attention? what will you allow to offer wisdom along your path?
